Established in 1992, Specialized Engineering provides engineering consulting services in the areas of construction materials testing (field and laboratory), materials Q/C & Q/A, special inspections, geotechnical and forensic engineering, environmental consulting, construction management, and construction inspections. The firm offers the clients the stability and integrity necessary to successfully complete a project. Specialized Engineering is certified as a SWaM Business in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
The firm also provides the engineering and management expertise necessary to perform quality services according to project documents within time and budgetary constraints. Specialized Engineering’s current staff consists of over 95 engineers, geologists, scientists, construction technicians, construction inspectors, laboratory technicians, and support staff with two full-service materials testing AASHTO certified/accredited laboratories. Specialized Engineering also maintains multiple mobile laboratories that can be set up on large projects including Design/Build and Public/Private Partnerships (P3) projects.
